To promote cooperation between VNU and Ha Giang, on October 14th, 2022, at the Hall of the People's Committee of Meo Vac, Ha Giang, a training course "Improving leadership and management skills for officials in Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province" was organized by the Institute of Policy and Management - University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the VNU Science Links in collaboration with the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Meo Vac district.
Attending the course, on VNU's side, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu –Head of the Investment Promotion Board, Vice President of the VNU Scientist Links, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Training Course; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Head of the Executive Board of VNU Scientist Links ; Dr. Truong Ngoc Kiem - Deputy Head of Cooperation and Development Department; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Luu Thi Minh Ngoc - International School and the lectures of the training course.
On the side of Meo Vac district, there were Ms. Vuong Ngoc Ha, member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee, and Chairwoman of the People's Council of Meo Vac district; Mr. Nguyen Huy Sac - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee; Secretary, Deputy Secretary, President, Vice President of communes and townships; Heads of Party Construction Committees, District Party Committees; Head of organizations of Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huy Sac - Chairman of the People's Committee of Meo Vac district said he was very pleased to welcome the staff and lecturers from VNU. He hoped that the contents presented, exchanged and discussed in the training course would contribute to adding more experience in the process of leadership and management for key officials of the district. In particular, the course helps to meet the expectations of local leaders about improving knowledge and skills for cadres, civil servants and public employees to be able to effectively deal with the actual work being carried out at the localities at the base level.

Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Dao Thanh Truong, shared that VNU leaders affirmed that one of the views in the development strategy of VNU in 2030, with a vision to 2045, is to promote the synergy from all resources, improve the autonomy, self-responsibility and creativity of the units; promote communication, linkage and comprehensive cooperation between units in VNU and agencies, businesses, localities and foreign partners to create added values and unique products. Stemming from the above point of view, in recent years, VNU has had many strategic cooperation activities with priority partners, especially localities, in order to actively participate in the economic development process - effective and sustainable society in many provinces and cities across the country. In which, it is necessary to mention the cooperation programs to improve capacity, and science and technology programs to serve the development of the Northwest region. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong hopes that this training course will provide practical teaching topics, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the implementation of local socio-economic development strategies in the coming time.

The training course will take place in about 5 days from October 14th to October 18th. The content of the training course will focus on providing skills such as planning and implementation skills, organizational testing skills, decision making skills, and document writing skills. In addition to the theoretical content, the lecturers and learners will exchange, discuss, practice and propose solutions to solve practical problems in the locality. Learners will have 02 days of study at Meo Vac, 02 days of practical study and practice in Hanoi and the campus of VNU in Hoa Lac.
